I saw some weirdness around this earlier.

I saw some Pro dude disparaging non-payers. However, when I clicked on his account, it didn't exist. Maybe it was a bug, but it seems super fishy. He, himself, was unverified.

I think the whole thing is getting astroturfed to toss off members/pressure people to pay. Also, wasn't there a link option? Now it's gone, if there was.

This whole thing stinks.



I am officially off of it, though. It really sucks to see other WC members wanting people to stay, because I didn't want to leave them. That's one reason I hope a lot of the regulars end up here, and I'm glad those of you who are here came. That sounds a bit sentimental.

Yeah I've been watching Gab all day and it's basically dead. Some of the big posters like Trevor got gifted Pro from randos, so they're hangin around, but otherwise it's a dying site.

This place is dead mostly bc people haven't migrated. I would have been posting more, but it's been a busy day at the desk for me.

I was thinking, but what about discord? Granted, it's a bit more restricted speech wise, but the customizing and accessibility aspects are enticing. And it helps that it's free.

Yeah I like the allure of the slower pace. Maybe I'm just old and miss the "good ole days". 

The one thing I LOATHE is the hoops to jump through for image posting. You can't just "drag and drop", no "copy paste", gotta go through Imgur for larger images (in the modern era they're all large), and it's not real mobile friendly. 

But other than that I dig it. I too hope for more engaging discussion. 

Unfortunately, for bigger images, there's not too much of an option. Most images tend to be smaller, but that doesn't make the ones that aren't any better. At least we can link here. I saw that there was no longer a link option on Gab.

I like that there's no real urgency for a quick reply or comeback. It helps me realize just how catered toward the short attention-span modern social media is- like they think you'll leave if not engaged constantly.

Yeah. You can definitely engage in a flame war on a forum. Hoo boy I remember going through multiple pages of back and forth. 
But the effort posting and things I learnt from that made it all completely worthwhile. I am far more articulate and well researched as a result of my time on forums than I would have ever been from social media. In fact, on places like Gab you can kind of tell the people who weren't on the internet pre-kikebook, and those who were. 

I'm so grateful that you set this place up because it'll give us the opportunity to train up a new generation of weebs in the fine arts of shitposting.

So what's the rules for inviting people here? I run a small weeb chat on TG and would love to post the link to here. Some good people with good interaction. But I don't wanna step on toes and shit.
