Yeah I started it on Sunday and got caught up yesterday. Pretty good show. The ONE thing that's actually throwing me off is the lack of detail in character designs. The faces don't have a lot of detail most of the time, and they're one color. I feel like even in decades past, when studios would cut corners using the same animated sequences (lookin at you, Gundam Wing), there was more detail overall. Idk...others may disagree, but it's throwing me off when I watch it. Decent enough story, enough intrigue where you could have a full 26eps, or even a s2, but will be serviceable as a standalone 12eps. Action is solid, 3dcg isn't as bad as I expected (nowhere near Overlord bad), but also not great. It's...decent. A good, decent sci-fi. Can't go wrong with that! EDIT: not sure if I was explaining what I mean about the detail properly; not sure I can express it. Just....it feels weird to me, very plain in some ways. I suspect the lack of detail is due to the use of the 3D models for a lot of of it. It's the same reason you don't get a lot of really cool shading. It definitely doesn't feel plastic. They did a good job with that. It does have a certain inflexibility and superficiality, though. I think doing too much detail on 3D faces makes them look weird, since there's actual depth, which can make it uncanny. I would say the CG is competent. It doesn't stick out most of the time. Though, every once in a while, I'll focus on it. It seems better for certain characters, given their importance. Unfortunately, it does make a lot of environments feel sterile. That works for scifi, but not in general. It probably has something to do with how defined it is versus how our brain processes things. We don't pay attention to every blade of grass when we go outside. We just see it as "a bunch of green." I need to re-watch it again, but a show who did the whole thing well was Lycoris Recoil. I'm STOKED for season 2. The story was great, action was great, and I found the seiyuu's to be rather excellent and natural compared to most modern shows (in JP, not dub). Idk...Metallic Rouge is good, just irks me a little with the animation. Overall I'm enjoying it. Not groundbreaking, probably something I won't show the wife (just bc it's not...great). This is a show I can enjoy for myself: a slightly better than mediocre anime that's better than anything else I could be watching. At least it's weebshit and not Weimerikan shit.

I'm currently caught up on Metallic Rouge and really enjoying it. The 3DCG isn't that bad, either. Some moments aren't great. However, on the whole, it's not taking me out of the show. With the plot pacing, it feels like it'll only be 12 episodes long. However, we'll see. yeah most seasonals are 12 episodes, if it's a Big Name anime it gets 24 on that note anyone wanna come over and watch Rurouni Kenshin 2023 on VHS

I used to date a Detroit woman who lived around 10-mile. I didn't care much for the area then, but I can imagine it's not much better now.

Watching Metallic Rouge, it's a breather episode involving cute Neans eating sweets.

Watching Metallic Rouge, it's a breather episode involving cute Neans eating sweets. "Breather episode" just seems like a way to say that they advanced the plot too quickly. That, or some serious stuff is about to go down.

Urushibara Ruka is not trans. sure acted like it lol, luka is BEST GIRL (also I can't multiquote for some reason, likely due to me being fat and retarded, especially fat) At no point did Ruka act like a troon. Ruka did not dress up like a girl in order to spend time "mentoring young girls" or "breaking into female industries" or "trick men into railing him up the bumb". The entire point of his character arc was accepting that "Lukako is Lukako", and that he didn't have to change himself. Additionally, his female attire and gentle demeanour is due to his overbearing father and his messed-up upbringing. Basically, Luka's issues stem from a mixture of confusing emotions, problematic upbringing, a selfish elder sister and a pressuring father rather than an inherent sense of being in the wrong body. While it might be a fairly accurate backstory to why people become faggots and why faggots pretend to be girls (abused by parents, selfish female role model, expectations of duty) the character is not a troon. (to multiquote you have to either type it in manually or do it from the reply page)

It's a shame there's no reacts here because you'd get a honk. The easiest test of whether or not a character is a troon is whether or not the trans community latches onto them as a "trans icon". If trannies, who are the single least self-aware people on this planet, say long after the fact that a character "is trans" it is objective reality that said character is not a troon. >Not written to be a troon >doesn't act like a troon >doesn't want to be a girl (positively identifies with being a male, doesn't hide it) >doesn't believe he is a boy in a girl's body (no gender dysphoria) Stop trying to shoehorn troons into every anime trap
