Apparently there is also Tevi which is a more polished clone/spiritual successor. Not sure about that game though the character designs look prudish or woke. Anyone tried that game?

I tried it for like 30 minutes. There is A LOT of talking. It's also not like Rabi Ribi at all. It's not really a Metroidvania. In the first 30 minutes, I was told, "You don't need to go this way right now." That's terrible design. It's not the same guy either, I think.

Thanks, I will skip Tevi then, unless perhaps if it comes down to 5$ or so. It seems some of the people of Ribi Rabi were involved in Tevi, but they went darker and edgier, and chattyer it seems.

It was enough for me to drop it. It was just really a different animal.

I'm in the second half of Rabi Ribi now. I guess they extended the game but kept the "ending" in the middle. Still enjoying it though, because I missed many things in the first half of the game.

It really feels like the thing is that you can scrape by the first half without getting a ton. However, the second half requires a ton more. Have you run into the Halloween Cats yet? Greta Fight. Great theme.

Took me an hour or so before I could make the jump, then it didn't trigger yet, so I guess I am too soon. You better play action games while you are still young Bera 50 it gets harder. I do appreciate that Rabi Ribi gives you a buff if you continue several times, I used that buff often.

I think the plant girl is probably the one that really got me the most (aside from the final boss and the shmup boss)

I finished the game but I had to switch to casual mode to do so, and the game crashed on ending. The last half of the game is indeed a bit less, you can see it is an indie game. They just made new rooms with existing image resources, or with simple lines. But still one of the more fun games I played recently. Metroidvanias definitely are about exploration, and this game certainly let's you do that.

It definitely cranks up the difficulty another level. So, at times, it's a tad more painful than fun. Some of the platforming gets rough as well.

I found yet another sale, "Evil tonight" four around 10$. While the main character is a green haired arrogant feminist, perhaps as a parody, because the other characters dislike her for that, the game has extremely beautiful pixel art. The gameplay is solid, with a lot of puzzles to solve. Most of the horror aspect is due to the mediocre battle controls, which have you facing in the wrong direction way too often. Nevertheless a decent game for the price. It should be a short game but I just keep save scumming room per room so it takes longer like that and I didn't finish it yet.
This is also the art style I like the best and I hope to make a game one day on this style.

Would you recommend it, or is it only decent if you've already bought it?

I will go with recommend at reduced price, not at full price. The game is too small to be worth more than 10 bucks.

It seems like good games are hard to find right now. It seems like nothing great is coming out, anime or otherwise, aside from a few small indie games.

The Atelier series will have a new game next spring, and there is still Atelier Sophie 2. A bunch of other atelier games are on sale right now for the Switch. For the rest I seem to have to settle for somewhat ok games once they go on sale.
I just finished Evil Tonight and it is somewhat on the woke side. Suddenly the kids who hate her like her for no reason at all and then they blame some guy who is never seen for the evil girl's bad decisions. Because of course, women are never responsible for their evils. They suggest he killed the bad girl with some mysterious poison that causes heart attacks. What was that supposed to be, a vaccine?
But like the main character being insufferable and everyone around her disliking her implicitly, the implications are actually the opposite. If the bad girl just quit her studies and convinced the the "bad" guy to marry her, she would not only be still alive, but with a child and with her family. For the feminists it is seemingly better to die trying to kill your own child and become a angry ghost than to quit your studies and marry. Too bad for them, but I fear God may grant them their wish, may He have mercy on them.
